Actor
Parmeet Sethi is a surprise entrant
in the best actor category for Israeli
Film Academy awards, as committee
members gear up to shortlist the nominations,
a media report said in Jerusalem.
Parmeet plays the lead role in the
Israeli film, Sof Ha'olam Shmola (At
the End of the World and Left), which
deals with interactions between new
immigrants from India and Morocco,
placed in a development township.
Twenty-three films have entered the
competition so far and some 700 members
of the Academy will shortlist the
nominations in 13 different categories
for the September 27 award ceremony.
The Indian actor's name has been recommended
by the producer of the film Dudi Zilber,
contrary to the rules of the Academy
which awards only Israeli talent,
