More
good news for India tennis. Having outsmarted
New Zealand in their Asia-Ocenia (Round 1) encounter
in Invercargill recently, India jumped two places
up the Davis rankings and, at 13, are the highest-ranked
Asian country (Thailand are at 16 and Japan
at 30). India are also currently the highest
ranked team vying for a spot in the World Group
through one more regional tie. Up against Japan
in an 'away tie' scheduled in April, India may
end up among the Top 5 in the field of 16 on
the Davis Cup ranking.
