Words
don't come easy to this shy guy. For
a sport that desperately needs the
glamour and the glitz, he is its ambassador
who is curiously inhibited by the
media glare. He is far from resembling
a hero in 'The Man of La Mancha' but,
amazingly, India's motor racing ace
Narain Karthikeyan is about to dream
the impossible dream as he is moments
away from creating history by becoming
the first Indian to zoom into the
high-octane world of Formula 1. Billed
as the fastest Indian on wheels, Karthikeyan
has announced his arrival yet again
as he gears to race with the prestigious
Team Jordan in this year's Formula
One, that kicks off with the Australian
Grand Prix from March 6. It's a dream
he believes he shares with millions
of countrymen, not all cricket lovers.
"Truly, it is a momentous occasion,
not only for me, but I hope for all
Indians. It's been a long journey
and the reward(s) that accompany hard
work has finally paid off," said an
ecstatic Karthikeyan,struggling to
hide his delight as he revealed the
news to the world in Mumbai on Tuesday.
